Kinch

Kinch

Kinch are an inventive young indie-pop band from Leeds. With hints of Motown, ska and early 80s influences, they have been compared to Vampire Weekend, The Jam, The Kooks, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys and Dexys Midnight Runners. Formed in 2007, they gig all over the country and have played festivals in the UK, Ireland and France.

In the last 12 months, Kinch have shared the bill with such disparate acts as Supergrass, Alabama 3, Roisin Murphy, Pendulum, Royworld, Utah Saints, Boy Kill Boy, Das Pop, Little Comets and even The Saturdays.

They were named winners of Leeds Bright Young Things 2008 -previous winners include Corinne Bailey Rae and The Music- and their self-financed debut single, Old Fashioned Love, reached Number 7 on the UK Indie Chart in October 2008.

Kinch became Leeds Rhinos official band for 2009 and will be releasing new material later this year. A free download is available now from www.kinchmusic.co.uk
